Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) database lists more than 7,600 degree-granting and non-degree-granting institutions that are accredited by U.S. accrediting organisations that are recognised either by CHEA or by the U.S Department of Education (USDE) or both.

Recognised bodies are higher learning institutions that can award degrees.
Listed bodies can’t award degrees themselves. If you study a degree course at a listed body, your degree will be awarded by a recognised body.
